I am
fascinated by the interaction of light and shadows in landscapes and nature.
In particular the sunlight shining in leaves and clouds, in skies and water.
The variety and contrast that this play of light and darkness brings is what
I try to capture in my work through expressive colours. This leads to the
creation of “lightened landscapes”.
Furthermore, I like the difference between reality and abstract. I combine
them in my paintings to stimulate the imagination and to evoke an image in
which one can get lost for a short moment. Painting thus becomes a discovery
with ever more surprising moments. |
